The Apex Overnight Challenge - 10th-11th May 2008

10th-11th May 2008

The Apex Overnight Challenge is coming, and now's the time to get your teams entered for this massive adventure competition. It runs right through the night where teams of four spend six hours visiting activities to collect as many Apex points as possible.

Events such as assault courses, skill games, and moon-lit mountain biking are among the twelve activities which teams need to complete to get the most points. It's open to all Explorer Scouts and members of the Scout Network. Teamwork and a good strategy are crucial as the Apex Chasers need to be avoided or points could be taken away.

See Apex Web Site: http://www.apexchallenge.co.uk/ and talk to your leader.

What's 1525ft above sea level and dates back to 1730 ?

Well its 1525ft above sea level, its dates back to 1730 – and we had a fantastic weekend there. You may have guessed by now its Hag Dyke. 22 Leaders and Explorers spent a weekend there. On the 7th - 9th March.

Its the first time I been there, and I will never forget the climb up, and I am not sure that anyone else will!

My Thanks to Dave, Andy and Dom for such a first class weekend, I know I enjoyed it and I sure all the others who went did. The weather may have been unkind – but that did not stop us.

I would like to get some photos posted on the web site so if you have any good ones please let me know.

"All the teams did very well, We were impressed with their navigation skill, camping and team work.

Them teams now need to go away and plan their own Expeditions now.

Leaders from Swallownest, Maltby and Wales worked with each other to make this event happen. Thanks very much to Dave and Gary
